The board of commissioners of state oil and gas firm Pertamina has not yet responded to proposal from its board of directors to stop processing crude oil in foreign countries, company commissioner Iin Arifin Takhyan told Petromindo.Com Friday.

?The commissioners board has not made any decision on their request, and I have no idea what decision it would make,? Iin said on the sidelines of the board?s meeting at Pertamina?s headquarters. He is also oil and gas director general.

Pertamina?s processing deputy director Dwi Kushartojo said recently his company would no longer seek crude processing deals (CPDs) next year to cover fuel consumption at home.

Dwi said importing fuel products was more economical than the CPD arrangement. He did not elaborate however.

Singapore?s oil refineries have processed Pertamina?s crude oil for the Indonesian market especially when the company?s refining facilities underwent turnaround.

Pertamina operates nine oil refineries but their output only covers 80 percent of the country?s total fuel consumption. (godang)
