ASX-listed Perpetual Resources Limited announced on Thursday it has completed an initial drilling campaign at the PT Atoz coal mining site. A total of 458.8 meters was cared with all eight holes intersecting the target coal seam.

The key highlight using a 58% Fixed Carbon cut-off is the identification of anthracitic grade coal in 13 of the 38 samples assayed.

The Phase 1 program was designed to check the near surface and down dip extent of the coal seams exposed on surface in the Pit I area and three short holes were drilled to check for coal in the Pit 2 area, the firm said in a statement filed with the Australian Stock Exchange.

Atoz Coal Project is located 60 kilometers south of Padang in the central west of West Sumatra. The project covers 192.08 hectares and has an approved production license (Production IUP).
