Conoco?s South Belut field to come onstream in Q2 2014

The South Belut field in South Natuna Sea Block B PSC in Natuna Sea which is operated by American firm ConocoPhillips is projected to be onstream in the second quarter of this year, said an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

Division Head for Inspection of Realization of Field Development Plan at SKK Migas Nugrahani told Petromindo.com that the firm is likely to postpone the first production of the field from March 2014 to the second quarter of 2014 due to the slow progress of the construction of production facilities at the field.

?The EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) works have been still 77.5 percent completed, compared to 92.99 percent planned,? Nugrahani said.

The South Belut field project is categorized as brownfield project since the works involve the modification of the existing platform in North Belut field. The field is targeted to produce up to 120 mmscfd of gas and 1,000 bpd of condensate. The South Natuna Sea Block B PSC is operated and 40 percent owned by ConocoPhillips, and the rest is owned by Inpex and Chevron which have interest of 35 percent and 25 percent, respectively.
