Conoco to begin gas supply to Malaysia in July

Conoco Indonesia Inc Ltd, will start in early March the construction of an undersea pipeline network linking its gas field on Natuna island to Malaysia as part of its 20-year contract to supply the natural gas to the neighboring country, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.
Sayed Fakhry, the company?s government relations manager, said in Pekanbaru on Wednesday that the natural gas was expected to start flow through the 100 kilometer-undersea pipeline beginning July this year.
?The company has appointed an Italian company to install the submarine pipeline,? he was quoted as saying by the business newspaper.
The construction of the pipeline is part of the company?s 20-year contract to sell natural gas to Malaysia?s Petronas at a capacity of 250 million standard cubic feet per day.
In addition, the Malaysian contract, Conoco has also joined other consortium to sell gas also from the Natuna island to Singapore. (*)
