ConocoPhillips Indonesia, a subsidiary of ConocoPhillips, announced Monday it had tested the Suban-8 delineation well on the southwest flank of the Suban gas field, located on the Corridor production sharing contract of South Sumatra.

?The well encountered a gross pay section in excess of 400 meters thick, and tested at a maximum rate of 35 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 163 barrels of condensate per day through a 52/64-inch choke,? Conoco said in a statement.

According to Conoco, the well spudded Oct. 3, 2002, and reached total depth of 3,147 meters on November 23.

Suban field was discovered in January 1999 and is located 64 kilometers from the Corridor project?s central gas plant at Grissik. Gas from the field is currently sold to Caltex?s Duri steamflood project located in Riau province.

Conoco further said it was continuing to appraise and develop the Suban gas field.

ConocoPhillips, operator, has a 54 percent of working interest in the block, while Talisman (Corridor) Ltd., a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc, and state owned oil and gas company Pertamina hold 35 percent and 10 percent, respectively. (robert)
