ConocoPhillips Indonesia said it has appointed IDX-listed oil and gas services company PT Elnusa Tbk to carry out a planned 750-km 2D seismic survey in Kuala Kurun PCS, Central Kalimantan Province.
ConocoPhillips Indonesia Senior Vice President Joang Laksanto told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the company had on October 26 obtained the so-called forest area borrow and use permit (IPPKH) from the Ministry of Forestry and Environment to carry out the seismic program.
He did not provide further details.
This portal previously reported that the company expected to carry out the 2D seismic at the end of this year.
The Kuala Kurun PSC was awarded to a consortium of ConocoPhillips and Malaysian firm Petronas Carigali in May 2015.
ConocoPhillips through its subsidiary ConocoPhillips Kalimantan Exploration Ltd. owns a 60 percent interest in the block, and the rest is held by Petronas (E&P) Overseas Ventures Sdn. Bhd.
