ConocoPhillips asked to supply clean water to S. Sumatra village

Oil producer ConocoPhillips Indonesia has been asked to supply clean water to a South Sumatra village where water wells have dried up, local daily Sriwijaya Post reported Thursday.

Musibanyuasin (Muba) regency council members in South Sumatra have suggested that ConocoPhillips use cars to transport water from its water wells to Air Tenggulang village.

Water wells in Air Tenggulang had dried since the past couple of months due to dry season, forcing people in the area to fetch water from ConocoPhillips? water wells in Rambang village, around five kilometers away. (*)
