ConocoPhillips hits dry hole in Amborip VI

US oil, gas firm ConocoPhillips hit dry hole in a drilling campaign operation offshore eastern Indonesia.
A Petromindo.Com source said that the Aru-1 exploration well in Amborip VI PSC in Arafura Sea hit dry hole after being drilled to the depth of 8,220 feet. The well was spudded on November 13, 2010.
The source said that ConocoPhillips is currently conducting drilling at Mutiara-1 exploration well in the adjacent Arafura Sea block. The source said that the company has completed 60 percent of the drilling process.
ConocoPhillips has 51 percent interest in Amborip VI with French giant Total SA and Taiwan?s OPIC equally share the balance. The company holds a 75.5 percent interest in Arafura Sea PSC with the balance also held by Total. (bernard)
