ConocoPhillips hopes to fix pipeline by Friday

ConocoPhillips Indonesia expects to have fully repaired its leaking offshore natural gas pipeline from West Natuna to Singapore this week, a company official said on Tuesday.

?Divers have been deployed to repair the leak? We expect full flow to Singapore by Friday at the latest,? company operations manager Jim Taylor said.

The pipeline had been pumping 325 million standard cubic feet per day to Singapore from gas fields in the Natuna Sea before the leak on Nov. 14.

The leak in the 640-kilometre (400 mile) underwater natural gas pipeline operated by the U.S. oil group prompted three of Singapore's power generators to switch to diesel-fired power generation. SembCorp Gas, a unit of SembCorp Industries Ltd is the Singapore buyer of the gas. (Alex)
