ConocoPhillips Indonesia is planning to conduct a 2D seismic acquisition in Kuala Kurun PSC onshore Central Kalimantan at the end of this year, according to a senior official of the firm.

?Now we are preparing exploration activity, hopefully the 2D seismic survey can be commenced in the end of this year,? VP Development & Relations Joang Laksanto told Petromindo.com.

He added, if the seismic result is good, then the next step will be drilling of exploration well.

The Kuala Kurun PSC was awarded to a consortium of ConocoPhillips and Malaysian firm Petronas Carigali in May 2015.

"ConocoPhillips through its subsidiary ConocoPhillips Kalimantan Exploration Ltd. owns a 60% interest in the block, and the rest is held by Petronas (E&P) Overseas Ventures Sdn. Bhd," Joang said.
