Indonesian upstream oil and gas authority BP Migas said on Wednesday ConocoPhillips and state electricity company PLN will sign head of agreement (HoA) to supply natural gas from the former?s gas field in Corridor Block, South Sumatra to the latter?s power plants in western part of Java in early May.
BP Migas vice-chairman Kardaya Warnika did not disclose the detail, but earlier PLN?s president Eddie Widiono said PLN is looking to purchase some 400 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas from ConocoPhillips-operated Corridor block PSC to fuel its Muara Karang, Muara tawar and Tanjung Priok Power plants. PGN president WMP Simanjuntak said first delivery is expected late 2006.
?Hopefully, sales and purchase agreement could be sealed soon,? said Kardaya.
The gas will be transmitted through the PGN?s 700-km S. Sumatra-West Java gas pipeline grid, which will be completed in 2006.(godang)
