ConocoPhillips re-tenders FSO procurement

Indonesian unit of US oil, gas firm ConocoPhillips re-tenders floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel procurement after only two out of the 30 participants passed pre-qualification, Indonesian National Ship Owners? Association (INSA) said as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia.

According to INSA?s Offshore Division Head Sugiman Layanto only PT Tasik Madu and PT Pertamina Tongkang passed the pre-qualification process.

Other participants included PT Trada Maritime, Wintermar, PT PP Equinox, PT Altus Lines Indonesia, PT Samudera Shipping Service and PT Salam Bahagia.

The FSO will be placed at ConocoPhillips? Belida field offshore Natuna to replace the current Liberian-flagged FSO named ?Intan? operated by Tasik Madu.

Under the BPMIGAS tender regulation, a tender could proceed with at least three participants passed the PQ.

Bisnis Indonesia source said that most of the companies could not meet technical and financial hurdles set by ConocoPhillips, which among other requires minimum experience of 7 years and having been garnered similar contract with minimum value of US$17.8 million per year. (*)
