ConocoPhillips Warim Indonesia, the subsidiary of American firm ConocoPhillips, said seismic acquisition will be conducted at Warim PSC, onshore West Papua, at the end of 2014.

"In cooperation with the local government of Maluku and SKK Migas (upstream authority), we continue to seek the most appropriate schedule to start seismic acquisition which is is expected to be conducted at the end of this year," Corporate and External Communications Manager Diarmila Sutedja told Petromindo.com.

She pointed out that the firm kept on good terms with all relevant stakeholders, including local governments and local communities to obtain permission and acceptance in conducting the seismic acquisition.

"We've done a number of discussions with the relevant parties, including the Environmental Agency of Papua and we are grateful for getting a very positive response," she said.

ConocoPhilips is the operator of Warim PSC with 80 percent interest in a partnership with Australian firm Santos which has the remaining 20 percent interest.

The block?s exploration activities have been halted for years as some parts of the area were considered to overlap with Lorentz national park. The government has extended the block?s contract by 15 years to 2032 to compensate the lost years
