ConocoPhillips to produce 20,000 bpd from E. Java field

US oil, gas firm ConocoPhillips is expected to come onstream in 2010 with estimated production of 20,000 barrel oil per day (bpd) from its Bukit Tua oil field in Ketapang PSC offshore East Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported Monday.

Head of East Java Energy and Mineral Resources Office Tutut Tri Herawati said in Surabaya Saturday that the Bukit Tua field would also produce gas.

According to her, Conoco which acts as the operator meet with related government officials last week to consult and coordinate the exploration activities.

In April 2008, State-owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) signed a gas supply Heads of Agreement (HoA) with ConocoPhillips.

Under the HoA, ConocoPhillips will supply initially supply 22.7 MMCFD of gas to PGN from Ketapang Block offshore East Java, ramping up to 62.3 MMCFD (average 50 MMCFD) from 2011 to 2015.

ConocoPhillips is the block?s operator with 50 percent interest and Petronas Carigali holds 50 percent interest in the block. (*)
