Oil and gas firm ConocoPhillips Indonesia will start marketing its oil and gas products from Natuna Islands in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, Bisnis Indonesia reported in its Thursday edition.

The oil and gas products will be processed on a vessel called Belanak FPSO, made by PT McDermott Indonesia in Batam. The vessel was launched on Monday.

PT Mcdermott Indonesia's president director Steven Roll said the oil and gas processing ship was built at a cost of US$150 million.

?We know that Belanak oil and gas field is an integral part of ConocoPhillips? strategic business in Southeast Asia. That?s why we built this ship as per their wishes,? Roll recently said in Batam.

Belanak field is part of the Block A PSC, south of Natuna Islands in South China Sea.

He mentioned that the Belanak fiel was developed to become a major supplier of oil and gas in Southeast Asia with world-class facilities.

Meanwhile Riau?s interim governor Ismeth Abdullah said the 25,000 tons capacity ship was entirely built by 6,000 Indonesian workers. (*)
