ConocoPhillips to start oil production from Natuna field

US oil, gas firm ConocoPhillips will start oil production from its oil field in South Natuna Sea B PSC this month, an official from upstream oil, gas watchdog said on Friday.
BPMIGAS Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations Dodi Hidayat told Petromindo.Com that Kerisi field, which is currently in commissioning, will start oil production on December 24.
Dodi said the Kerisi field is expected to produce 35,000 BPD in 2008. With production addition from Kerisi, Block B is expected to produce 60,000 BPD of oil, he said. Currently, the block produces 31,000 BPD of oil and 85MMCFD of gas.
ConocoPhillips is the operator of the block with 40 percent interest. Inpex Natuna Ltd. holds 35 percent interest and Chevron holds 25 percent interest. (godang)
