The government has asked state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, state gas producer PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) and state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to accelerate development of an LNG floating receiving terminal in Jakarta Bay to overcome gas deficit facing PLN.
?The development must be sped up. The faster the better,? Director General for Electricity and Energy Utilization J. Purwono said on Tuesday.
He said the completion of the terminal would allow PLN to secure gas supply.
?If the terminal is ready, we can obtain the gas from Tangguh block or other gas fields or perhaps from import,? Purwono said.
Pending the completion of the project, PLN will buy gas from spot market, he added. (*)
