Gas Power Consortium, which comprises of power plant firms from Indonesia, Germany, Singapore and Australia, plans to develop a 250 MW gas-fired power plant at the Buluminung Industrial Area, in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province.
Antara Kaltim quoted Wahdiat Al Ghazali, a broker for the planned project, as saying Tuesday that the provincial administration has given principle permit for the estimated US$600 million power plant project.
He, however, did not disclose the name of companies participating in the consortium, which plans to start construction of the project this year if all necessary permits can be obtained soon as the required 100-ha land has been acquired.
Wahdiat said that construction of the power plant project will take about two years to complete.
He said that the consortium is interested in developing the gas-fired power plant project as the province is rich with gas resources. (*)
