Consortium to buy panamax to transport coal

Local shipping firm PT.Fitria Antar Nusa Samudera will for a consortium with a number of local shipping firm to raise US$26 million to purchase a panamax vessel to tranport coal from KPC's Tanjung Bara in East Kalimantan to Tanjung Jati B coal-fired power plant in Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported president director Soehariyo as saying Wednesday
He did not say who the other consortium members are.
The Indonesian-flagged vessel called MV Denaka will replace Taiwan-flagged panamax Ho Jia, which must be replaced by Indonesian owned vessel based on cabotage principle which rules that goods that are shipped within Indonesian waters must be carried with Indonesian ships. (*)
