Construction at Block A PSC not affected by quake

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works at Block A PSC in Aceh Province operated by PT Medco E&P, a subsidiary of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk was not affected by a Wednesday 6.4-magnitude earthquake that shook parts of Aceh.

?Thank God, the operation is not affected as the location (central point) of the earthquake is quite far (from the project location),? Development Director of Medco E&P Eka Satria told Petromindo.com.

He also said that the construction progress at the block has reached more than 35 percent.

The block is expected to come onstream in the first quarter of 2018 with gas from the block to be channeled to state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero). The block is is 41.6 percent owned by Medco (operator) and 41.66 percent by KrisEnergy and 16.67 by Japex.
