Construction of Asahan hydro power plant to start next month

PT Berkat Bina Karya plans to start construction of a 3x30 MW Asahan IV hydro power plant in Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, in August, local reports said on Saturday.
Berkat Karya Manager Ramli Assiddiqie was quoted as saying that construction of the Rp 3 trillion power plant project is expected to be completed in three years.
?This project has been planned since 2003, and the ground breaking will be held in August, scheduled to be led by President Joko Widodo,? he said, adding that the electricity output will be sold to state-owned power firm PT PLN. (*)
