PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), expects the construction of some additional production facilities at the Banyu Urip field called ?Early Oil Expansion (EOE)? to be completed in August 2014, according to a top official of PPEC.

?Currently the progress of EOE has reached 30 percent. We hope all of the construction facility of EOE would be installed in August 2014 and ready to produce 10,000 bopd in Sept. 2014,? President Director of PEPC Amril Thaib Mandailing told Petromindo.com.

He pointed out that the EOE is different from the Early Production Facility (EPF) which both is in Banyu Urip project. EOE which was initiated by PEPC replaces the plan of the Wellpad B First Oil (WPBFO) production initiated by Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL), the operator of the Banyu Urip field. The Banyu Urip oil field has been operating since August 2009 with the EPF, and it is currently producing 29,000 bopd.

?The EOE?s production of 10,000 bopd will become an additional output for the EPF?s production of 29,000 bopd,? Amril said.

The Banyu Urip oil field is part of the Cepu block, located at the borders of Central Java and East Java. The block is operated by MCL, a unit of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia, with a 45 percent participating interest and PEPC holds another 45 percent. The remaining 10 percent participating interest is shared by a consortium of regionally owned companies; PT Sarana Patra Hulu Cepu (Central Java), PT Asri Dharma Sejahtera (Bojonegoro), PT Blora Patragas Hulu (Blora), and PT Petrogras Jatim Utama Cendana (East Java).
