Dwi Paryono, the head of the energy and mineral resources office at the Central Java provincial administration, said that PT Bhumasena has secured all the necessary permits to develop PLTU Batang coal-fired power plant.
He said that the company would spend about Rp 37 trillion to build the power plant which would have capacity of 2 x 1,000 MW. The power plant will be located in Karanggeneng village, Kandeman sub district, Batang.
Dwi said that the location of the power plant was not against the existing spatial planning of the local district. In addition to various permits including the Amdal environmental document, the company has also received recommendations from the ministries of forestry and fishery.
However, in order to be able to continue with the project, PT Bhimasena should receive a recommendation from the coordinating agency for national spatial planning BKPRN. (*)
