Construction of NDD Area-13 started soon

Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) said that it would soon start the construction of North Duri Development Area-13 (NDD Area 13) and the commissioning of surfactant field trial project in Minas field, Riau province.

"God?s willing, the ground breaking for NDD Area-13 will be done by ESDM minister (minister of energy and mineral resources) during his scheduled visit in August,? PT Chevron President Director Abdul Hamid Batubara told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Friday.

The NDD Area 13 project is located within the Rokan PSC, which has contract effective until 2021.

BPMIGAS and CPI announced the EPC Contract tender for the NDD Area 13 in mid of last year. Chevron expected the construction of the NDD expansion project to commence next year.

Total Duri crude production is now around 199,000 barrels per day, but will increase significantly in the future when development of North Duri Area 13 is completed.

According to Abdul Hamid, the surfactant field trial project for Minas field will be conducted in September this year. ?God?s willing, preparations have been done for surfactant trial. We need your support,? he said.

Separately, the company?s Vice President for Government Policy and Public Affairs, Yanto Sianipar said that the results of the surfactant field trial would be an important factor to determine the sustainability of Minas field.

"We?re now working on its schedules of implementation. The results of the surfactant injection trial will become an important factor in determining the future of the Minas field,? he told Petromindo.com
