Construction of PLN?s Tenayan coal-fired plant still in progress

State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said that the construction progress of the Tenayan Raya coal-fired power plant in Pekanbaru, Riau, has reached more than 39 percent of the target.

The 2x100 MW power plant is expected to start commercial production in 2015, to supply electricity for consumers in the central and northern part of Sumatra, said Helmi Najamuddin, Head of Coal Division at PLN.

?According to the latest report we received, the construction of the power plant by PT Rekayasa Industri and Hubei Hongyuan Power Engineering Co Ltd has reached 39.12 percent,? he told Petromindo.com Wednesday.
