Construction of PLTA Asahan IV starts

Construction of the PLTA Asahan IV 3x30 MW hydro power plant in Aek Songsongan District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, is expected to start today.

?Ground breaking will be held tomorrow (Saturday),? said Ramli Asshiddiqi, Public Relations Chief of PT Berkat Bina Karya, on Friday. The company is teaming up with China?s Northwest Engineering Corp Ltd in developing the project.

Ramli said that the power plant project is expected to be completed in three years, the output of which would be distributed to the Sei Mangke special economic zone.(*)
