PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas company Pertamina, has begun the construction of the central processing plant (CPP) at the company?s Gundih gas field in the Cepu block, Central Java.

?The construction began last month and the progress has reached 10 percent,? Pertamina EP spokesman Agus Amperianto said.

With the construction of the CPP, gas from Gundih can soon be supplied to PLN?s PLTU Tambak Lorok combined cycle plant in Semarang. The US$120 million CPP is built by a consortium of PT Inti Karaya Persada Teknik and PT Andhi Karya (Persero).

The construction of the plant, which will be completed in two years or in second semester of 2013, is part of the Java Gas Development Project (PPGJ) which will provide gas supply of about 50 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) to PLTGU Tambak Lorok power plant. (bernard)
