Construction progress of Sarulla unit 2 has reached 70%

PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI), wholly-owned subsidiary of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, said that construction progress of the second unit of the Sarulla geothermal power plant project with a capacity of 110 MW in North Sumatera province has now reached around 70 percent.

President Director of MPI, Fazil E. Alfitri told Petromindo.com on Thursday the second unit is on schedule to be on stream this year.

The first unit of the Sarulla geothermal power plant project also with a capacity of 110 MW started commercial operation on March 18. The third unit with capacity of 110 MW is targeted to start commercial operation next year.

The Sarulla geothermal power plant is operated by a consortium called Sarulla Operations Ltd, which comprises of MPI, Itochu Corp, Kyushu Electric Power Co Inc, Ormat International, and Inpex Corp.
