The amount of subsidized oil fuels distributed by state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) in the first four months of the year reached 14.99 kiloliters (kl) or 31.7 percent of the quota given to the firm for the whole year.

With the statement, Pertamina seemed to dampen worries that the consumption of subsidized fuels may exceed the quota set for this year.

The state budget limits the amount of subsidized oil fuels at 48 million kl this year with Pertamina holding the right to distribute almost all of it.

Pertamina?s Vice President of Corporate Communication Ali Mundakir said that as of April 30, the firm 9.48 million kl of the annual quota of 47.35 million kl given to Pertamina this year. During the period, the firm sold 9.5 million kl of Premium gasoline (29.4 percent of the annual quota), 5.15 million kl of diesel oil (36.42 percent of the annual quota), 325,000 kl of kerosene (36% of the annual quota).
