Contractors drill 52 exploration wells

PSC contractors operating in Indonesia have drilled 52 exploration wells as per October 2009, an official at upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS told parliamentary hearing on Tuesday.
Chairman R. Priyono said that the figure was 62 percent of this year?s target of 84 wells.
He did not give details.
He said that the main reason for contractors to fail to meet drilling commitments were financial problems, unavailability of rigs and permit and forestry problems. (bernard)
