Cooper starts mobilization to Kurnia-1 well

Australian oil and gas firm Cooper Energy Limited said on Tuesday that it had started "mobilization"  to the Kurnia-1 well  in South Madura PSC onshore East Java.

“At this time the rig camp has commenced mobilisation with the rig to closely follow around the 10 June. Scheduling of the rig assembly and commissioning and the arrival of materials, equipment and personnel indicates that Kurnia-1 to sput around 15 July 2007,” the company said.

The Kurnia-1 prospect, which is located in the southern part of the block, is evaluated to have reserves of 256BCF of recoverable gas and 199 million barrels of recoverable oil at confidence level of 50 percent.

Cooper is the operator of South Madura PSC with 30 percent working interest. Nations Petroleum has 60 percent and the remaining 10 percent is owned by local firm PT Eksindo. (denny)
