Core Mineral commences production from Bengkulu coal mine

Bengkulu-based coal mining company PT Reksaindo Guriang Tandang has commenced production since February this year with monthly production of around 40,000 tonnes.

Udaya Kumar, GM Mine and Marketing told Petromindo.Com on Friday that the mine is located in North Bengkulu with concession area of 3,000 hectares and is operating on a mining licence (KP).

Reksaindo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian firm PT.Core Mineral Indonesia.

Kumar said production from the mine could be ramped into 80,000 tonnes per month in the next few months. Currently, he said, coal production is sold to domestic market and the company is currently looking for opportunity to export to Malaysia and the Philippines.

The company?s mine produces coal with calorific value of around 5,600-5,700 Kcal/kg, said Kumar.

The company uses Baai port in Bengkulu as loading base.
