Correction: BPMIGAS tells Genting to revise North West Natuna PoD

Upstream oil, gas company BPMIGAS tells Malaysian firm Genting Oil to revise Plan of Development (PoD) it submitted to tap oil, gas reserves at North West Natuna PSC in Natuna Sea.

Deputy Chairman in Charge of Planning Achmad Luthfi in an interview with Petromindo.Com on Friday mistakenly identified the block as Anambas PSC.

"I apologize for the mistake. Anambas is still in the stage of pure exploration. Meanwhile, drilling has been carried out in North West Natuna PSC," Achmad told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

During the Friday interview, Achmad said BPMIGAS did not agree on the way the company estimated its reserves. ?We advised them to drill more wells to confirm the reserves,? he said.

Petromindo data say Genting Oil had drilled two exploration wells in North West Natuna PSC, that is Ande-Ande Lumut?2X-R and Ande-Ande Lumut?3X, where it found oil. The block is wholly owned by the Malaysian firm. (Godang)
