CORRECTION: Pertamina acquires interest in Semai PSC

Upstream Director of state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina, Bagus Setiardja, said on Tuesday that the company has acquired five percent of the respective interests of Murphy Oil Corp, PTTEP, and Inpex Corp. in the Semai II block, offshore Papua.
US energy firm Murphy Oil Corp, Thailand?s PTTEP and Inpex of Japan, each previously held a 33.33 percent interest in the block. With this acquisition, signed on June 17, the three companies now each holds a 28.3 percent interest in the block.
This is a correction to a June 21 report on Petromindo.com saying Pertamina has signed an acquisition deal to farm-in 15 percent in the Semai II block from Murphy Oil Corp. (bernard)
