The previous article incorrectly stated that the newly operating PLTU Cirebon source its coal from Kideco and Berau Coal. PLTU Cirebon in fact source its coal from Kideco and Adaro. The article has been rewritten as follows

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik has officially marked the operation commencement of the 660MW capacity PLTU Cirebon, Indonesia's first coal-fired power plant to employ the super-critical boiler technology, allowing it to make use of lower calorie coal.

"The coal will be supplied by Kideco and Adaro on 30 year contract of 2.85 million tons per annum at international benchmark price," the power plant President Director Taneo Nakata told reporters.

The power plant, estimated to require US$850 million to build, is 20 percent owned by Indika Energy, with the larger part 80 percent owned by Japanese-Korean consortium consisting of Marubeni Corporation and Samtan Co.Ltd.

The power plant is expected to cover 2 percent of the entire national electricity needs, especially catered for Java and Bali.

State electricity company PLN has previously signed 30 year PPA contract for the electricity generated by the plant.
