(SBY will inaugurate the projects on March 21, rather than April 21 as reported earlier. The following is the correct version of the story)

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will inaugurate several energy projects in March 21 at the Subang gas field, West Java owned by state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina.

Pertamina?s director of exploration and production Kun Kurnaely said the projects that would be inaugurated by the president include coal-fired power projects and gas projects.

?I was assigned by Minister of Energy Mineral of Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro to find a location (for the ceremony) at Pertamina?s operation in West Java. I went to Pondok Tengah (Bekasi, West Java), but it is too crowded. Then, I went to Subang. Pertamina is drilling a gas field there in the middle of rice fields,? Kun said on the sidelines of the ceremony to inaugurate the operation of the South Sumatra-West Java II pipeline in Pagar Dewa, South Sumatra.

He said the Subang field which is estimated to hold 1.1 trillion cubic of feet of gas has been producing gas since three years ago. The gas is sold to state owned steel company PT Krakatau Steel, state owned gas company PT PGN, state owned electricity company PT PLN and other industrial companies.

Pertamina also expected to sign agreements with companies that the firm had agreed to cooperate in developing the former?s oil and gas fields across the country under the so-called joint operation (KSO) scheme, according to Kun. (Godang)
