The South Sumatra High Court decided former head of the province' s mining office Ahmad Husein was not guilty, overruling the previous decision of the local district court that the man was guilty of embezzling his office out of Rp 264 million.

The Palembang District Court earlier sentenced Ahmad to six months' imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rp 10 million.

The High Court also ordered all Ahmad's properties that had been confiscated, including a plot of land, a house and two cars, to be returned to the accused. (*)
