Coziron commences trenching, sampling program in Kunyit iron ore project

Australian mining firm Coziron Resources Ltd said that trenching and sampling program have started at the Sungai Kunyit iron ore project in West Sumatra.

A total of nine trenches have been proposed and targets have been determined from recent geological mapping and ground magnetic surveying, undertaken in the last quarter of 2006, the company said in statement on Thursday.

The company said the magnetic survey was designed to test the lateral extent of magnetite mineralisation located around the Bukit 1, Bukit 2 and Bukit 3 prospects.

According to the company, six trenches will target the Bukit 1 and Bukit 2 anomalous magnetic response; another 3 trenches will target areas between Bukit 2 and Bukit 3. Each trench will extend approximately 150 meters in length, expected depths gained will be approximately 5-7 meters and all associated geological face mapping and sampling will be undertaken concurrently.

Historic exploration and rock chip/grab sampling has returned assays of up to 66.30 %Fe, the company added. (denny)
