CPI completes EOR pilot project in two fields

In the latter part of this year, PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) has completed enhanced oil recovery (EOR) pilot project at two fields including North Duri Area 13 and North Duri Area 7 within the Rokan PSC in Riau, according to an industry source.
The source said that North Duri Area 13 was on stream in September, while North Duri Area 7 in October of this year.
Total Duri production currently stands at 199,000 bpd, but CPI expected production to increase significantly by 17,000 bpd once the North Duri Area 13 development has been entirely completed, hopefully in June of 2015.
Elsewhere, CPI is also implementing an EOR pilot project using the surfactant injection technology at the aging Minas field in a bid to increase oil reserves and production.
