CPI finds 15 theft cases in Duri-Dumai-Minas lane

PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) claims to have found cases of theft on its Duri-Dumai-Minas crude pipeline in Riau. Losses are estimated to reach 3,200 to 3,500 bopd.

"We have found 15 cases of crude oil theft, mostly in the shipping line section of the Duri-Dumai-Minas lane," said PR Manager Usman Slamet to petromindo.com.

"Duri Crude and SLC are indeed much targeted by the thieves."

Chevron has requested helps to prevent the illegal practice to the police and upstream authority BPMIGAS.

BPMIGAS Head of PR, Security and Formality Division Hadi Prasetyo confirmed such cases and said BPMIGAS and relevant authorities are in cooperation to help reduce the thefts.
