TGI, a subsidiary of state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), shut down last week its pipeline, which channels gas from ConocoPhillip's gas field in Grissik in South Sumatra to the Duri field following a gas leak incident.
Abdul Hamid said that TGI has now resumed its gas supply to Chevron but the oil and gas company will need time to return to normal production level as it has to first clean up its steam generator units located in 12 areas following the shut down.
?We have received gas from TGI. The gas turbine is gradually returning to normal position,? he said. ?It will take time for (oil) production to return to normal.?
Gas plays a vital role in the Duri field as the field uses waterflooding technique in oil production process. (godang)
