CPP production back to normal after power supply from Caltex resumed

Crude production from Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CPP) oil fields in Riau had return to normal level Wednesday after power supply from Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI) was stopped for four hours on Tuesday, causing the field producing only 36,000 barrels at that day.

?Power supply from CPI had returned to normal today, and we are expecting to produce at normal level of above 40,000 barrels today,? a CPP source told Petromindo.Com Wednesday.

CPI spokesperson Poedyo Utomo said that power stoppage to CPP was caused by trouble in one of the turbine in the 300 MW Duri cogeneration plant, which supplies power to CPP.

?CPI production in Minas fields was also disrupted by the accident, but now it has return to normal,? he said. Minas produces 125,000 barrels of crude per day.

CPI, the former operator of CPP oil block, had transferred operatorship in the block on August 8 to a consortium which consists of state oil and gas company Pertamina and Bumi Siak Pusako. The consortium uses some of CPI?s facilities such as pipelines and powerplant to run the block. (godang)
