Craig Stewart named as new IPA Chairman

Craig Stewart, General Manager of Salamander Energy in Indonesia, has been named as the new Chairman of the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) for 2015.

Executive Director of IPA Dipnala Tanzil told Petromindo.com that Stewart is scheduled to be officially installed as the new IPA Chairman on Tuesday during a board meeting at the Dharmawangsa Hotel in South Jakarta.

Stewart will replace Lukman Mahfoedz, President Director of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional, who has assumed the post since 2013.

According to Salamander Energy?s website, Stewart has over 30 years industry experience and joined Salamander in April 2012 from Vico Indonesia where he was President and CEO. He started his career as a drilling engineer with Unocal before moving on to take managerial roles with Unocal in both Thailand and Indonesia and with Eni in Indonesia.

Stewart has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
