Crude production resumes to normal

The country?s oil production is expected to resume to normal level today after dropping to as low as 802,000 bopd last week due to bad weather condition, according to Gde Pradnyana, Deputy of Operation at upstream oil and gas authority SKKMigas.

Gde told Petromindo.com Monday the gas lift compressor at CICo?s operation in the Makassar Strait reportedly has been backed on line, thus allowing for additional production of 2,300 bopd.

Report also came in that at the Poleng TAC, production is expected to return to the 6,000-7,000 bopd level this afternoon after a disconnected hose facility having been fixed.

During the past few days, there have been various operational-related problems due to the bad weather condition which has cut down the country?s crude oil and gas production. For example, there was a production loss of 13,000 bopd due to the total shutdown at HESS in East Java as transfer of rigs had been hampered by poor weather.

A disconnection of hose at the Poleng field had caused the WMO Block being limited to only produce at less than 2,000 bopd, compared to the target of 25,000 bopd.

At the same time, there was a huge shake in the surge valve at the propane production area of Train-2 at the Tangguh LNG facility in West Papua, prompting a temporary shutdown of the facility, thus causing a production loss of 4,000 bopd of condensate. Meanwhile, PHE ONWJ also saw several leak problems.
