Singapore-based firm CSE Global Ltd announced Thursday its subsidiary Transtel Engineering was recently awarded a contract worth about S$8.0 million by the JGC/KBR consortium, a Japanese/American partnership, to deploy a telecommunications network for the Tangguh LNG gas plant in Papua.

?Transtel will implement a turnkey package that encompasses the detailed design, engineering, procurement, system integration, test and commission of a IP based telecommunication network to support the plant critical operation,? CSE said in a statement.

CSE said the project is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2006.

According to CSE, the Tangguh LNG plant is the first plant of its kind to be fully running under the fibre-optic based IP backbone network with the voice, video, data and audio telecommunication traffic based on the IP protocol. (robert)
