Cue Energy completes drilling in Naga Utara

Australia-listed oil, gas firm Cue Energy Resources Ltd said that it had completed drilling in Naga Utara well late last month, and the well had been plugged and suspended pending further evaluation.
The company said in its first quarterly report 2012, the modular dynamic test (MDT) log recovered gas samples from 6 inch holes. During drilling, the well encountered two high pressure gas sands and gas was flared during well control for several days.
It stated that drill stem test (DST) was not effectively completed as formation collapse inhibited flow from the open hole section. A cased hole DST was performed on a secondary target after perforating the 7? liner. Gas and water rates were not accurately recorded. The formation is considered a tight gas or gas/water zone.
The company also announced that drilling in the oil prospect Naga Selatan, which is located about 7.5 kilometer to the west of Sanga-sanga oilfield that had been in production, had been started since 21st April 2012. It is proposed to drill up to a total depth of 6,500 feet MD (measured depth) which would take 33 days, and another 15 days for evaluation if required.
