ASX-listed Cue Energy Resources announced on Monday that it planned to spud the Naga Selatan-2 (NS-2) well within Mahakam Hilir PSC in East Kalimantan in November of this year, targeting shallow oil objectives.

Cue believes the feature is geologically analogous to the 500-million-barrel Sanga Sanga oil field trend ten kilometers away. Well planning is currently progressing with civil works contracts and a rig contract near award, the firm said.

Cue holds a 100 percent interest in, and is the operator of, the Mahakam Hilir PSC in the prolific Kutei Basin onshore Kalimantan.
