According to findings made by non-governmental organization Suluh Borneo, CV Antara used documents issued by
other coal producer KUD Suryanata village cooperative to indicate as if the company?s high coals were mined from the coal concession owned by the cooperative.
With such a modus operandi, the company was able to ship coal out of the province without distribution payment to the local government. According to Suluh Borneo, the cooperative was paid Rp 6,000 for every tons of coals carrying its documents.
The coal exported by CV Antara was of high-calorie type while its own coal concession produced low-calorie coal. Suluh Borneo believed that the company bought the high-calorie coal from local illegal miners.
The company then exported the high-calorie coal with documents issued by KUD Suryanata, one of high-calorie coal producer in to regency.
In addition, during the period of between May to August, CV Antara had also exported about 18,978 tons of high-calorie coal under the document issued by KUD Suryanata. (*)
