Coal miner and exporter, PT Dachlan Energy said that it would ship some 50,000 tons of coal to China on June 25, representing half of the company's target in the second quarter this year.
Finance Director of Dachlan Energy, Jodi Pujiono Susanto said that the company targeted to export about 100,000 tons in the second quarter due to the decrease of demand such as in China.
"We are being realistic, since the market is in bearish condition for the second quarter we don't set a high target, one or two shipments should be good enough " Jodi told Petromindo.com
Jodi said that the demand from China is currently decreasing and the price is going down. "We are hoping to see the price bouncing back soon,"he said.
In the first quarter, the company has exported about 100,000 tons. Dachlan Energy targets to export 350,000 tons in 2012. The coal to be exported was supplied by several coal miner companies in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
