Dahlan urges Inalum to realize two projects this year

State Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Dahlan Iskan urged state-owned aluminum producer PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) to realize this year two key projects including a US$1.7 billion smelter grade alumina in Mempawah, West Kalimantan, and a 2x300 MW coal-fired power plant in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra, Koran Tempo reported on Thursday.
Inalum is teaming up with state-controlled mining firm PT Antam Tbk in developing the smelter grade alumina, which will have an annual production capacity of 1.6 million tons.
To help accelerate the realization of the two projects, Dahlan as appointed Winardi as the new President Director of Inalum , replacing Sahala H. Sidjabat. (*)
